Wedding programs are often made to help guests understand what is going on in the ceremony, and to let them know who is who in the wedding party. Your wedding programs can be simple, or you can make elaborate ones for your guests to hold onto as a reminder of our big day. Some churches offer to print these up for you as part of our rental price, and others will give you suggestions for places to go. You can get them printed up anywhere, or if you want to save some money, you can make them at home on your own computer.

If you want to make your own wedding programs, you can come up with something that is truly unique to who you are and what your wedding represents to you. Gone are the days when computer printed invitations and wedding programs looked plain and boring. You can do almost anything you can imagine for your program, and you may find that it is easier than you thought. All you need is a little imagination and a quality printer. Remember to print out more than you think you need. You will have guests who cannot make it, and you might want to mail them a program after the event so they have something to remember your day even though they could not attend.

You can buy kits to make wedding programs, but most people prefer to do them from scratch. You can include photos, poems, or graphics if you so choose. You can also use scrapbook materials to do cutouts or to attach special adornments like ribbons. What you can do is only limited by your imagination. You can have friends help you, and this can be a fun afternoon with the girls if you like. Just make sure that someone proofreads your wedding programs before you print them out. You might want to print one for one final proof before you print the bulk of them. You can never be too careful.

If you don’t feel confident that you can make your wedding programs, you can go with someone else. If you have chosen someone to do your wedding invitations, they can in most cases do your wedding programs for you as well. They may have template from which you can choose, and they can personalize them any way you see fit. Just remember to order them early so you have time to get them reprinted if someone has made a mistake.
