MOTION ACTIVATED SPRINKLER

We have a pond which is man made and well stocked with fish. There are carp, trout, and many other species there, both for fishing and just to contemplate, but there are always birds of prey nearby. That is why we have been using motion activated sprinklers for several months now. A motion activated sprinkler system is a simple, human, and downright ingenious way to keep various kinds of predators away and protect your pond, or any other area which might interest them for that matter. Whenever a potential pest gets in the way of the motion activated sprinkler, it gets sprayed by a persistent jet of water. For a lot of animals, this might just scare them off, but eventually the will come back and try to test the limits and get back to pursue fresh prey. This is why one blast from the motion activated sprinkler is almost never enough. It must be always kept up, and the battery must always be charged and ready, or else the predator will successfully be able to get in to the pond past the sleeping motion activated sprinkler system.

Of course, our Scarecrow motion activated sprinkler has proven so effective, that we have begun to use it for a lot of other tasks as well. For example, we now have a motion activated sprinkler in the yard where we keep the garbage cans. We have been plagued for months now by the biggest, nastiest, most vicious raccoons that you ever laid your eyes on, constantly coming by to scavenge our garbage. Now, the motion activated sprinkler is not enough to completely scare off a persistent raccoon, but it sure is enough to keep it at bay until it sees an opportunity. A predator, no matter how nasty, will not keep on trying to get food at one place when there are much easier option available. A motion activated sprinkler is enough of an annoyance, at least for the raccoons, that in a matter of days they were forced to give up completely. We have only seen them back once or twice since, and in general they have decided to completely leave us alone, thanks to the motion activated sprinkler. It is such an obvious invention, yet so ingenious. It does not harm the critters in any way, nor does it seriously disturb their habitat. It simply keeps them out of the way.
