Some people use the family dog as their household alarm systems. Large dogs are often used for protection and may be more effective than alarm systems. Some experts who offer tips about how to prevent home invaders from victimizing your home will say that dogs are an excellent alarm system. If you don't have a dog, they suggest leaving dog dishes outside just for the effect. If you are going away on vacation, you may even want to put a 'beware of dog' sign near your porch. Even purchasing stickers that advertise alarm systems and placing them on windows could be enough of a deterrent for would-be invaders. Though some tips may suggest tricks to make people think your home is more protected than it is, having alarm systems is still the absolute best protection you can have.
