TELEPHONE BILLS

Telephone Bills

I used to save every single one of my phone bills, and I did this for a very good reason. Back then, I was horrible with numbers, and I would quite often lose numbers that I really needed to have. I cannot count the times that I had to get out my old telephone bills to find someone’s number. I have an address and telephone book, but that doesn’t mean I use it like I should. I am better at recording important phone numbers now, but back then, old phone bills were a blessing, even if they were a pain to store.

Today, most telephone bills that come from traditional telephone companies still have these numbers listed for you. They do this so that you know where you called, and how much it cost you per call. If you have a flat fee for long distance, however, you may not get this information any longer. It was mostly done for billing purposes. If there were calls on your bills that you did not make, you could get them removed. This happened to me a few times, so I’m sure it happened to a lot of people. It was essential then to go through your telephone bills to make sure your charges were correct.

With today’s digital phone, you are less likely to get a detailed telephone bill because the long distance is included. I have digital phone and cable through Time Warner, and I can’t find any listings what so ever. I was really shocked because I have made called to Australia that should have been ten cents a minute, but they have yet to show up on my bill, and I can’t see where I have been charged. If I have, I cannot find where the charge is, or where there is any difference in the normal amount of my bill. My telephone bills are always on the same page as my cable bill, so perhaps I just have to get used to not knowing.

If you for any reason need detailed telephone bills, call your service provider and ask them what your options are. Some may give you listings for a fee, while others may not be able to get you anything at all. It will depend on the company and their policies. If you need your telephone bills to remember numbers like I do, perhaps you had better get used to learning how to keep your address book up to date.
