ELECTRIC RAZOR

Electric Razor

When I was young, I couldn’t wait to shave my legs for the first time. I’m not sure why this is, because now I know what a pain it can be. I guess it was the excitement of knowing I was growing up and this was now something I had to do. It made me feel like I was one step closer to being a woman. My mother had an electric razor but she rarely used it. She instead opted for the razor in the shower or bath but I never knew why. I now understand.

In theory, and electric razor is a great invention. It is easy to use and you don’t have to have water in order to shave. The problem with an electric razor is that it does not work as well as a blade and they may never be able to make one that does. If you remember the Epilady, you will know that no matter how hard they try, nothing will beat a razor. You can pull the hair on your legs out by the roots if you want to, but I’ll skip that, thanks anyway!

You don’t see a lot of ads for the electric razor geared towards women today, and that is because most women are disappointed with them once they try them. You will see a lot for men, however, and some even come with lubrication. I have to tell you, the first time I saw an ad for an electric razor that had lubrication oozing out of it I was a bit freaked out. It just seemed creepy for some reason, though I honestly don’t know why I felt that way. I do know that my husband saw that commercial with me, and he was indeed a little weirded-out by the oozing liquid. He informed me he would never use it.

Men do seem to use the electric razor for their face though, and perhaps this is because they can use it without cutting their face, even if the shave is not quite as good as they would like. It is one thing to cut your leg and put a Band-Aid on it and quite another to cut your face before you head out to work or a social event. The electric razor might be a better bet when you can use it a few times a day with very little hassle, even if it does have some strange liquid oozing out of it.
