Black Light Posters

I had never really seen black light posters until I had gone to college. Everything was new then, as I had grown up in a rural area where we really didn’t have as much exposure to some of the things that everyone else did. I’m sure there were people with black lights in my town, but I didn’t know them. They aren’t a big deal, though they can be fun for a bit, but it was just another new thing to me that made me realize how little I knew of the world.

I would guess that black light posters are most popular with college students. College is a time of life when some do things they only do in college, and then they move on and grow up. They seem to be most popular with those who might have been experimenting with things they have probably left far behind once they graduated. I did have a neighbor once who had his home covered in black light posters, but he was another story altogether. He was one of those that had a little too much fun in college and never really grew out of that lifestyle. At age fifty, his posters and his dog where his most prized possessions.

Black light posters tend to look like any other poster in the daylight, but when you shut your curtains and turn off your lights, they have a whole new life. You nee a black light for this, of course, but those are pretty easy to come by. The black light posters I saw were mostly of patterns and colors. I guess that was because those are the most popular and the coolest looking ones. Even regular posters looked different under the black light, even if they weren’t made for that purpose. You might also notice that this type of light affects just about everything in the room.

You can find black light posters everywhere, and for the most part, they don’t cost much more than a regular posters. You may find the best ones in places like Spencer’s Gifts or other specialty stores like them. There is a stigma associated with black light posters that isn’t really fair, but it exists nonetheless. If you have these posters and you are moving into a new place, you might not want to let your landlord see them. They may think you are up to no good.
