When my friend said that she wanted to start her own business in her home I thought that she would never follow through with the plan. She really surprised me when she invested in beauty salon equipment that would serve as the beginnings of a lucrative career. The very idea of working from home can be a little scary but she is living proof that tenacity and dedication pay off in the end.

The beauty salon equipment wasn’t really as expensive as I thought it was going to be. Her husband was extremely supportive in her decision to start a business like this. He helped her choose the beauty salon equipment and he assembled the items for her in their finished basement.

We really take the many beauty shop supplies that are used in typical hairdressing salons for granted. There is a lot that goes into starting this kind of business venture. One piece of beauty salon equipment that often goes unnoticed is the professional grade sink that is used to wash hair.

The professional grade sink was installed but she needed a chair that would swivel as well. This piece of beauty shop equipment also had to have adjustable heights too. This way she could accommodate customers of any height. The chair and sink were bought as a set and she went on to the next product.

Of course, any hairdressing business needs a lot of mirrors and the mirrors have to be pretty big. I was surprised to discover that this was one of the most expensive items that were purchased for the home business. This beauty shop equipment can cost a small fortune but fortunately my friend stumbled across a great deal.

A construction company was remodeling a condo that had large mirrors on the walls. The renovation was not going to include this feature so the owner of the condo sold the items off for next to nothing. He probably had no idea that they would be used as beauty shop equipment.

She wasn’t nearly done with the shopping. Other beauty shop equipment included a couple more swivel chairs, hair dryers, curling irons and a plethora of other beauty supplies as well. She slowly built her home business while spending less and less time at the salon that employed her part time.

Within a year or so she had built a pretty lucrative home business that affords her the convenience of making her own schedule and working from her house. The beauty salon equipment really paid off.
