BEACH CHAIR

Beach Chair

When I went to the beach for the first time in my life this past summer, I thought I was prepared. The sad reality was that I was not; though I did think of everything I needed for my daughter to have a good time. I have not had the opportunity to go to the beach so I was excited about going, and I forgot to think about every possible thing that I might need. I forgot to get a beach chair.

You may think that a beach chair isn’t all that important, but it was something that I should have had. I didn’t plan to go swimming, though I did wade through the shallow waves with my daughter. I took a blanket instead of a beach chair, but it didn’t work out like I had thought. I realize that a blanket is fine for most people, but for me, I didn’t like sitting on the sand on the blanket.

I was extremely tired that day, as I had been traveling a lot the few days before. Though the main purpose of the day was for my daughter to get to go to the beach, it was a chance for me to relax as well. I needed a beach chair and I didn’t have one. I was uncomfortable and the girl that came with me didn’t bring anything. We shared my blanket and that made it even more uncomfortable. My daughter was fine, but I was in agony. I just wanted to relax.

I guess the next time I go I will make sure I bring some sort of beach chair with me. Knowing more about the nature of sand at the beach, I know that not just any chair will do. I’m not sure that chair I have for camping can double as a beach chair, but it would be better than nothing at all. Perhaps I will try to get to the beach more often, and if that can be the case, I will be sure to invest in a good beach chair or two so that we can relax and have fun at the same time. I enjoyed building the sand castle with my daughter and my friend, and I loved the look of wonder on my daughter’s face as she entered the ocean for the first time, but my day would have been complete had I had a good chair to relax and take in the breathtaking view.
